The Black Stars of Ghana are looking forward to end the 35 year wait of African Cup drought as they defeated DR Congo in the quarter final encounter.
The Ayew brothers made their presence felt as they both found the back of the net in the second half to put Ghana through to the Semi’s. Jordan Ayew broke the deadlock in the 62nd minute curling the ball pass Ley Matampi in the leopards goal.
Paul-Jose M’Poku equalised for DR Congo with a sensational curling long-range effort from outside the box.
West Ham’s winger Andre Ayew converted a penalty in the 78th minute sending the DRC goaliee the wrong way which put the Black stars ahead to seal the win.
The gallant stars have progressed and will be facing their Cameroonian counterparts on Wednesday.
Ghana last lifted the AFCON trophy in 1982.
