The founder of the party and first president of the 4th Republic, His Excellency John Jerry Rawllings made a stomping entrance flanked by Kofi Adams, a deputy party secretary and Mr. Kofi Portuphy which brought the address by the Deputy Minister of Education and MP for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto-Ablakwa to a halt as the throng descended from the stands in an attempt to have a better look at the former head of state and founder of the NDC party. Speaking at the campaign launch, Hon. Nii Lantey Vanderpuije MP for Odododiodoo prayed upon the multitude to conduct themselves appropriately to ensure a successful election which would see the NDC retain the presidency. According to him, the many achievements of President Mahama’s government is a surety for a second term. His delivery was followed by Dan Abodakpi who also re-enumerated the achievements of the NDC government. Alhaji Hudu Yahaya was all praise of the government’s electrification of the hinterlands. He added that Ghana in the era of President John Mahama has parted ways with Dumsor. The event is ongoing and is still pregnant with several ministers of state, Members of Parliament and NDC big Whigs who are yet to address the large crowd before the address by his Excellency John Dramani Mahama. A major aspect of the event is the outdooring of the entire campaign team and the regional campaign managers.
